McKenzie and Toth not sailing at Weymouth

Australian Star sailors Paul Mckenzie and Philip Toth will not compete at the final International Sailing Federation (“ISAF”) Grade 1, Sail for Gold event in Weymouth, Great Britain. The pair is currently 13th in the SWC, but will remain on their current total of 29 Sailing World Cup (“SWC”) points for 2009.

Mckenzie said “the costs of running a Star class campaign are significant and the standard of competition intense. Neither Philip nor I were in a position to prepare for this regatta properly, so we have taken the decision not to compete. We prefer to concentrate on training during the coming months, in the lead up to the 2010 World Championships in January and next year's SWC”.
