Sail Sydney drops Olympic classes, adds a day to Youth and Invited classes

Sail Sydney is one of the largest sailing regattas in the Southern Hemisphere and the organisers are always conscious of delivering an event that suits a wide range of classes and abilities.

With many Olympic classes having a number of international obligations in the lead up to the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, and in consultation with the stakeholders,  the Sail Sydney organisers have decided it is best to cancel the previously announced Olympic class segment of the regatta.

The good news is that the Youth and Invited Classes segment will now run for four days from 17-20 December in order to better service all the sailors that want to participate.

Dates for racing will now be 17-20 for youth and invited classes, and the regatta will be hosted by Woollahra Sailing Club. All class enquiries can be directed to events@nsw.yachting.org.au

The organisers would also like to thank the ongoing generous support of the NSW Government who make this event possible.

Yachting NSW is a not for profit organisation responsible for the administration, promotion and advancement of the sport of sailing at all levels throughout NSW.
