Queensland's War on Wrecks upcoming forums

The Queensland War on Wrecks (WoW) program, launched in late 2018, has seen a considerable number of abandoned/wrecked vessels removed from local waterways, with plans for further work now being considered by the WoW Taskforce.

Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) is responsible for delivery of the program and while still actively undertaking salvage operations along the east coast, MSQ is now looking at the incidents that lead to a vessel ending up in a derelict state. Topics being reviewed include registration requirements, vessel identification (HIN), boater licensing standards, vessel manufacturing standards and insurance requirements.

Members with an interest in the War on Wrecks program or the discussions on topics above are encouraged to attend one of the upcoming WoW Taskforce forums, scheduled as follows:

Noosa – Saturday 22 August
Wynumm – Saturday 12 September
Gladstone – Saturday 26 September
