GB1 has reached another major milestone in its campaign for the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup, with the team’s AC75 race boat, code-named RB4, arriving in Naples following an 800km, three-day journey by road from Persico Marine in northern Italy, where it has undergone an extensive refit.
RB4 is the same AC75 that raced for the British team in Barcelona at the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup, where the team made history by winning the Challenger Selection Series, becoming the first British challenger in 60 years to qualify for the America’s Cup Match and the first in 90 years to score race wins in the Match.
Now in Naples, the 75-foot foiling race boat has undergone a major programme of work to reconfigure it for the new AC75 Class Rules that govern the 38th America’s Cup in Naples in 2027.
