There has been plenty of speculation surrounding Martine Grael’s position with the Brazil SailGP Team in recent weeks, particularly after the team experimented with switching roles on board the F50.
Now it appears Grael’s time at the helm – a role that saw her make history as SailGP’s first female driver – is unfortunately officially over.
Shortly after Martine posted the rather telling message “officially unemployed” on social media, the Mubadala Brazil SailGP Team released the following statement confirming that Paul Goodison will take the helm for the final stages of the season, with Marina Arndt moving into the Strategist position:

Martine Grael has been with us since the creation of the Mubadala Brazil SailGP Team and has played a fundamental role in building this story. Two years of hard work, challenges and achievements have left an important legacy for the project.
For the final stages of the season, Paul Goodison will take the helm of the F50, while Marina Arndt will move into the Strategist position. Two experienced and talented professionals who are already part of our team.
The project moves forward with the same purpose, ambition and commitment to taking Brazil to the highest level of sailing worldwide. We move forward together, building the future of the team.
