Leaders maintain their positions at Sunshine Coast Ocean Regatta

Competitors in SCOR 2015 approached the start line today conscious that they would need to use all available tactics in a light breeze that was expected to drop further during the day.  With a south-westerly breeze blowing, competitors enjoyed the relatively flat water as they prepared for the start of a 24 nautical mile sail from Mooloolaba to the North West Fairway mark off the coast of Caloundra.  The return sail would take boats around the Gneerings and return to Mooloolaba Bay.

Monohulls and Multihulls lined up for an exciting start with Rum Raider, a Corsair Sprint 750 first over the line. The multihulls soon took the lead on the sail to the North West Fairway followed closely by the IRC/SCOR entrants, Hasta La Vista and Quest.

Results at the end of Day 4 maintained the existing leaders with Blue Eagle leading the PHS Monohull division and Rum Raider leading the Multihull division.  Quest is leading the SCOR/IRC division.

SCOR 2015 will conclude tomorrow. With forecast winds at 15 to 20 knots, it is anticipated that two races will be conducted on the final day. For more details visit www.scor.net.au.
