It is not particularly well known that C-T SnuffAir spinnaker retrieval system is part of the C-Tech product range. This inflatable spinnaker snuffer system is an alternative to the conventional solid bucket and has many advantages with safety and space saving.
The patented C-T SnuffAir might appear to be a simple product but it has taken years of tweaking and 106 prototypes to combine the right mix of materials and construction to stand up the heat and stress loads of 'snuffing' a large spinnaker in a racing environment.
The attached video is from the recent Millennium Cup Superyacht regatta in the Bay of Islands, NZ. It contains some 'snuffs' that give a small insight to the heat loads that can build up on the inflatable ring.
The SnuffAir product range has sizes to suit yachts from ten metres up to the largest of superyachts.
