Australian Sailing has announced Foil Drive as its Official Electric-assisted Hydrofoiling Partner. This collaboration is set to significantly enhance the development of Para Sailing and create new opportunities for individuals to experience and advance in foiling throughout Australia.
The partnership merges the expertise of Australian Sailing with the innovative technology of Foil Drive, aiming to promote participation and inclusivity in sailing, particularly for individuals with disabilities.
Foil Drive will support Australian Sailing’s Para Sailing initiatives, such as the Para Inclusive Wing Development camps. This support includes the provision of technology, equipment, and technical expertise, assisting sailors and coaches in exploring innovative approaches to foiling and creating more accessible pathways into the sport.
The electric-assisted hydrofoiling technology from Foil Drive aids sailors in their learning process by offering flexible equipment configurations, allowing adaptations to meet individual needs. This technology fosters new ways for individuals to engage with foiling, boosting confidence and developing essential skills.
The partnership aligns with Australian Sailing’s broader goals of expanding Para Sailing in Australia, including exploring pathways for the potential return of sailing to the Paralympic Games in Brisbane 2032.
Australian Sailing CEO Malcolm Page OAM highlighted that Foil Drive’s support will enable the organisation to challenge conventional participation methods and foster new opportunities for all sailors.

Foil Drive’s Global Sales and Marketing Director Chris Radford expressed pride in supporting Australian Sailing’s efforts to broaden opportunities for Para sailors and enhance participation in sailing.
“Foil Drive was founded in Australia with a simple ambition, to make foiling more accessible and give more people the opportunity to experience what is possible on a foil,” he stated.
The partnership also builds on Foil Drive’s engagement in the Para Inclusive Wing Development Program, which focuses on seated wing foiling, developing necessary skills and equipment for sailors with varying abilities and access requirements.
This collaboration reinforces Australian Sailing’s commitment to innovation and inclusivity, providing Foil Drive with the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing growth and development of foiling and the sport across Australia.
