Sydney’s largest marine and boating event has concluded another successful year, with thousands of visitors descending on Sydney Showground over four days to celebrate the very best in boating, fishing and outdoor adventure.
Building upon a legacy of major boat shows dating back to 1960 in the NSW capital, the 2026 Sydney Boat Show transformed Sydney Showground into Australia’s largest off-water marine showcase from 30 July to 2 August. The event featured more than 100 exhibitors showcasing over 350 boats and watercraft, thousands of marine products and accessories, Australian premieres, industry-leading innovations, live demonstrations, and family-friendly entertainment.
Cameron Bow of Sportsman Boats highlighted the show’s success, stating it was the best boat show he had exhibited at in a decade, noting the excellent attendance and genuine interest from visitors in purchasing new boats.
Hosted by the Boating Industry Association (BIA), the four-day event showcased luxury motor yachts and trailer boats, cutting-edge marine technology, and fishing equipment, reaffirming its position as one of Australia’s most significant events for the recreational boating industry.
BIA Chief Executive, Andrew Fielding, reported increased attendance compared to last year, with positive industry responses highlighting the resilience and strength of Australia’s marine sector. He remarked on the enthusiasm of visitors embracing the boating lifestyle and engaging with the latest innovations.
Nathan Dark of Lewis Ski Boats expressed satisfaction with the show, noting a strong flow of quality enquiries and significant sales results, including deposits taken shortly after the event opened.
Blake McArthur of Hunts Marine commented on the consistent crowd throughout the event, which he had not seen in nearly 30 years, reflecting increased engagement and strong leads.
Attendees explored hundreds of vessels from leading Australian and international brands while exhibitors unveiled the latest innovations across various marine categories. The event also featured an interactive Boating Safety Zone, popular with visitors, and over 700 high school students attended the BIA Careers Information Days.
The Show included a diverse program, from State Government safer boating forums to live entertainment, drawing crowds with fishing personalities and educational experiences. The event was supported by partners like Transport for NSW, Anaconda, and GMSV, promoting safe boating and marine career opportunities.
Sydney Boat Show is proudly owned by the BIA and continues to celebrate the boating lifestyle through innovation and community engagement.
