The final countdown to the start of the 30th anniversary edition of The Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille is now underway, and a grand celebration is in prospect.
This milestone event for Europe’s longest-standing superyacht regatta in 2026 will once again feature a unique mix of world-class superyacht racing and informal, owner-focused hospitality that sets this regatta apart.
This year’s enduring appeal is marked by one of the largest entries ever, welcoming both returning participants and newcomers to the reliable Bay of Palma racecourse.
Event Owner & Director Kate Branagh expressed delight at the large number of entries: “We are beyond delighted to be able to welcome so many entries to our 30th anniversary. With a new Regatta Village layout thanks to our Venue Partner Club de Mar-Mallorca, we will have all the boats together again, stern-to next to the main event tent – recreating the atmosphere and great dockside party vibe of our past.”
The regatta will preserve the best of its history while evolving with the times, introducing a game-changing multihull class for the first time ever, along with a dedicated YYachts racing division.
Five competitive racing classes will take to the water, showcasing a strong international fleet that will provide a spectacular display of both classic and contemporary superyacht design.
Among the notable returnees are the J Class yachts Rainbow and Svea, who will race head-to-head on a dedicated windward-leeward course in their own class.
The exceptional quartet of multihulls – Allegra, Gaea, Highland Fling and Layla – each boast a selection of talented racing sailors aboard, ensuring excitement in their own class and fleet start.
Among those returning in the superyacht classes are the two-time winner Win Win, the powerful Oyster Archelon, the 39m Tripp design Cervo, and the 27m Hoek Design Atalante 1, now racing under new ownership.
Debuting at The Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille will be the 58m Ron Holland designed Perini Navi ketch Burrasca, the elegant 30.9m Wally Inco, and from the Nautor Swan stable, the 30.5m Point Counter Point and Swan 88 Spiip.
Additionally, six YYachts will compete, including three Tripp Designs: the 23.8m Lucid and Distancia, and the 29.71m Bella, along with 23.8m Judel/Vrolijk Beati, the Brenta 80 Makai, and Calabash, both at 25.99m. Calabash, designed by local naval architect Javier Jaudenes, is the only returnee in this class, having debuted in 2024. The YYachts will have a shorter start gap of 60 seconds between races, enhancing the thrill of competition.
YYachts, a Friend of The Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille, are among several event partners celebrating significant anniversaries this year, including their 10th. Title Sponsor Richard Mille and Carbo-Link will mark their 25th anniversary, while Marinepool celebrates 35 years, and Hoek marks 40 years.
The Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille will kick off on Wednesday, 24 June, featuring Registration, Safety and Captains’ Briefings, and a Welcome Cocktail Party on the dock. Racing will commence with the Pantaenius Race on Thursday, 25 June, followed by the Owners’ 30th Anniversary Celebration Dinner at St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca, continuing with the 30th Anniversary and St. Regis Races on Friday and Saturday.
