J Class returns to Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez

The 28th edition of Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez is set to take place from September 26 to October 4, 2026, promising to combine sport, elegance, and conviviality. Organised by the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez, the event will feature three distinct fleets: Modern yachts, Classic yachts, and Maxis, with the return of J Class yachts anticipated to be a key highlight. Approximately 3,500 sailors from around the globe will gather to partake in this unique racing experience in the scenic Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

Strolling along the docks in the evenings, spectators can admire the intricate rigging of classic yachts and the sleek designs of modern vessels. The atmosphere will be vibrant as the crowd gathers near the Portalet Tower to watch the racing action unfold and to celebrate the day’s results as yachts return to the gulf. This spirit of celebration has made Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez a standout event since its inception in 1981.

Each edition brings fresh highlights, with the majestic three-masted schooner Atlantic expected to return in 2026, sharing the spotlight with at least three J Class yachts. With over 250 entries already submitted more than three months prior to the event, the anticipation is building.

The event will also focus on hospitality and celebration, having relocated to the Jean Réveille quay in 2023, which has enhanced the experience for competitors and visitors alike. The Race Village offers a bustling hub for participants to mingle and celebrate, supported by the expertise of local technical teams and key partners.

In 2026, the event will celebrate significant anniversaries, including the 20th year of partnership with Rolex, the centenary of the Comité International de la Méditerranée, and 150 years of maritime dedication from the Edmond de Rothschild family.

The Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez, as the organiser, is also supporting the French La Roche-Posay Sailing Team in their upcoming America’s Cup campaign, set to take place in Naples in 2027. The club will compete against prestigious yacht clubs from around the world, including the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and the Royal Prince Edward Yacht Club from Australia.

The programme for Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez includes various racing events for Modern, Classic, and Maxi yachts, culminating in prize-giving ceremonies for the winners, including the prestigious Rolex Trophy.

Save the date for an extraordinary week showcasing the best of sailing in a spectacular setting.
