Sydney Boat Show ’26 bigger and better at Sydney Olympic Park

The Boating Industry Association Ltd (BIA) has officially announced that the 2026 Sydney Boat Show will take place at the Sydney Showgrounds at Sydney Olympic Park from Thursday, 30 July to Sunday, 2 August 2026. This four-day event is set to expand following the success of its debut in 2025 and strong interest from the industry.

BIA CEO Andrew Fielding expressed that the new venue was well-received, stating that many exhibitors and sponsors are keen to return for the 2026 show. He highlighted the venue’s accessible location within Greater Sydney and its dedicated train station, significantly benefiting both exhibitors and visitors.

Fielding also mentioned plans to enlarge the undercover exhibition space to accommodate more exhibitors, while utilising the extensive outdoor areas available. The event will aim to offer a comprehensive showcase of the boating lifestyle, featuring marine accessories, fishing gear, and a variety of boats including trailable models.

Feedback from exhibitors like Derek Rodway of Good Times Marine indicated that the 2025 show exceeded expectations in terms of access and atmosphere. With a move towards a more elaborate event in 2026, stakeholders are encouraged to submit expressions of interest to exhibit by contacting info@bia.org.au.

Additionally, BIA is finalising reports from the recent Sydney International On-Water Boat Show held at Darling Harbour in November, with an announcement regarding the 2026 plans expected in early February.

The BIA represents Australia’s boating industry, advocating for the interests of diverse stakeholders including designers, manufacturers, retailers, and charter services. The boating industry reported a turnover exceeding $10.2 billion last year, with employment figures around 35,000 across 2,000 businesses. Small family businesses constitute 75% of the membership, significantly contributing to local communities.

In collaboration with the Australian Fishing Trade Association, the two organisations represent an annual turnover of $21 billion and provide jobs for 135,000 people. With over 85% of Australians living near the coast, boating has become an integral part of recreational life, with nearly one in five households owning a boat.
