SailGP – New Racing on the Edge episode lands

The latest episode of Racing on the Edge, SailGP’s acclaimed behind-the-scenes docuseries, launches today, providing an exclusive view of the emotional rollercoaster experienced during the championship’s European leg – the final sprint in the Race to Abu Dhabi.

Produced in partnership with Rolex, Waiting for Wind captures the pressures leading into the 2025 Season showpiece, where national pride, personal glory, and the largest prize in the sport (US $12M) are at stake. The double-header held in Saint-Tropez and Geneva featured varied weather conditions, high-speed races, and strategic maneuvers, putting the top teams’ Grand Final aspirations at stake.

A condensed weekend of racing in Saint-Tropez saw Dylan Fletcher’s Emirates GBR team seize their second victory of the season, amidst discussions on what could have been for others.

After just a few days, the race shifted to Lake Geneva, where light-air tactical racing challenged teams differently, resulting in some unexpected outcomes. Notably, the BONDS Flying Roos excelled in conditions where they had previously struggled, while historic competitors New Zealand faltered, finishing lower in the rankings.

The Geneva final showcased a thrilling contest between the BONDS Flying Roos, the home favourites from Switzerland, and first-time finalists Germany Deutsche Bank. In a memorable conclusion, Germany claimed their inaugural victory this season.

Off the water, SailGP confirmed the addition of a new team for 2026, the Artemis SailGP Team, led by Nathan Outteridge. Amidst speculation about team formations, Outteridge remarked on the changes within the competitive landscape, indicating a potential shift in team dynamics within the league.

SailGP is set to return later this month for the high-stakes showdown at the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Sail Grand Prix 2025 Season Grand Final, where one team will emerge as the season champion and claim a $2M prize pot, the highest in the sport. More information can be found at SailGP.com/abudhabi.
