Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 349 swing keel model to premiere at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 2016

The smallest Sun Odyssey in the range but one of the most popular, the SO349 is already a best seller in Australia with over 20 owners ‘down-under’.

Designed by Marc Lombard, the SO349 has proven to have the combination of performance, comfort, and safety in a stable and easy-to-handle package.

Available with two or three cabins, a spacious saloon and a functional galley, Jeanneau says “the SO349 is hitting the mark with those new to sailing as well as more experienced sailors who appreciate the pure ‘sailability’ that has put the model on the podium as many times as it has been in a secluded anchorage”.

The SO349 is available in three different versions, the standard keel (draft 1.98m), the winged shoal draft keel (1.49m), and the hydraulic swing keel version (1.26m-2.54m). The swing keel system is an identical weight to the fixed keel so there is no weight penalty and without a bulb there is actually less drag. There is also very little impact on the internal volume as the keel stays on the exterior of the yacht, and there are in built safety systems to prevent any accidental mishaps.

Each keel version is complimented by twin rudders that Jeanneau says give exceptional control at every sailing angle and reduce vulnerability when in shallow areas. All versions of the SO349 have a CE rating of Category A.

The swing keel Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 349 will be on display for the first time at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show this year with local dealers Mooloolaba Yacht Brokers.
