Organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club in association with the Royal Yacht Squadron, the 2026 RORC Round Britain and Ireland Race saw 32 boats and 182 sailors from five continents compete in a challenging course of 1,805 nautical miles around Britain and Ireland.
The race featured a diverse fleet, including monohulls and multihulls racing under IRC, MOCRA, and Class40 rules, with yachts ranging in size from 9.99m to 21.5m. Over two weeks, competitors faced the complexities of the course, navigating through Land’s End, the wild west of Ireland, St Kilda, and Muckle Flugga, encountering Atlantic lows, wind holes, and varying sea conditions.
The highlights video captures onboard footage, drone shots from the start, and interviews with competitors, including the overall winner, Pace. The film also tells the remarkable stories of survival and extraordinary events from the race.
The 2026 edition marked the 50th anniversary of this prestigious race, which is held every four years. The film features notable moments, including boats surfing at over 25 knots while others faced challenging conditions requiring repairs and teamwork.
