Sunshine Coast Ocean Regatta now scheduled for July 2021

The Sunshine Coast Yacht Club at Mooloolaba on the beautiful Sunshine Coast planned to run the Sunshine Coast Ocean Regatta (SCOR) on 18th and 19th July. This was to be in conjunction with the Brisbane to Sunshine Coast (B2SC) race on 17th July with the Queensland Cruising Yacht Club. However due to COVID-19 control restrictions both events sadly cannot go ahead in 2020.

However the Sunshine Coast Yacht Club plan to run both events in July 2021 once sailing and sailors’ lives return to normal. So when SCOR returns in July 2021, visiting sailors and supporters from Victoria, NSW, Brisbane and the Gold Coast will be able to enjoy the magnificent sailing available on the sparkling waters of the Sunshine Coast and the beautiful marina facilities at Mooloolaba.

Both events will be open to mono and multi hull yachts. SCOR will see crews competing in IRC and PHS racing over short and long course races under the direction of an internationally renowned professional race officer. Interest has been strong in both the SCOR and B2SC.

So make sure you flag the Brisbane to Sunshine Coast Race and the Sunshine Coast Ocean Regatta in your diary for July 2021. Both events will be the highlight of the 2021 southeast Queensland yachting program.
