Twelve months on and Foveaux Strait still isn't giving up any secrets about the fate of missing yacht Munetra.
Skipper Andre Kinzler, 33, set sail for Preservation Inlet in Fiordland with two 19-year-old German tourists, Lea Tietz and Veronika Steudler on April 16 last year.
They have not been heard from since. The yacht was expected back in Bluff one year ago today.
The German-born skipper had lived in Southland for four years and worked on Jim Cooper's dairy farm in central Southland.
Cooper said the loss had been tough for everyone on the farm. “Just about every day I think about him,” he said.
