Matt Wearn continues to lead Laser Europeans

he Final series of the Laser Europeans started today in La Rochelle, France, and 9-15 knots allowed sailors to complete two new scheduled races, being 8 now in total.

Weather is being fantastic and the 300 plus sailors are enjoying great sailing in medium to strong winds, sunny days and warm weather are delighting every of participants.

Day 4 results
The Laser Radial Men’s championship is still controlled by Nik Pletikos SLO (4-3-1-8-1-4-3-2) with 18 points, followed by Federico Tocchi ITA (3-9-4-3-3-1-2-9) with 25. Third place for Polish sailor Aleksander Arian POL (7-12-2-1-4-3-7-5) with 29. It was a bad day for defending champion, Marcin Rudawski POL (6-7-3-2-2-2-14-11), now in fourth with 33 points.

French sailor Yvan Beaufils FRA (9-4-8-5-21-19-6-6) is leading the Radial Men’s U21 championship with 57 points and ranked fifth overall, followed by Ben Elvin GBR and Pandelis Kyrpoglou GRE with 68 and 74 points respectively.

The Radial Women’s championship is now led by 2016 Olympic gold medallist, Marit Bouwmeester NED (3-9-1-3-1-2-5-7), with 22 points, followed by overnight leader Maxime Jonker NED (1-1-1-8-1-1-14-11) with 24. Third place overall for Paige Railey USA (1-7-11-4-2-1-13-1) with 27. Alison Young GBR is fourth and third European with 41 points.

Matthew Wearn AUS (2-1-1-1-1-1-12-3) continues to head the Laser Standard championship with 10 points, just 1 point in front of Sam Meech NZL (1-1-1-1-2-4-15-1). Jesper Stalheim SWE (4-3-3-3-5-2-1-2) is now third overall and first European with 18 points after a great performance.

Pavlos Kontides CYP (3-1-BFD-5-3-2-3-7) is fourth overall and second European with 24 points. Third European place for Philipp Buhl GER (4-3-2-4-BFD-1-13-5) with 32 points and ranked sixth overall.
