A Raymond Island yacht owner got a shock when she found the koala perched on a railing while sailing at Gippsland Lakes, Victoria.
The local Member for Gippsland, Darren Chester, shared the image of the koala in its new digs on Twitter.
“Koala stowaway? Raymond Island yacht owner discovered a new crew member this morning,” Mr Chester said in the tweet.
“One of the locals attempting to get a free cruise on the magnificent Gippsland Lakes.”
It is not known whether the animal had any Yachtmaster koalafications.
