Ronstan Orbit Block
Ronstan's Orbit Blocks are a no-compromise solution for the world?s racing sailors. Ronstan's blocks boast the use of the advanced fibre and polymer technology that is up to 10 times stronger than steel yet more compact and lighter.

Ronstan has replaced virtually all metal components in its ball bearing Orbit Blocks with hi-tech polymers and fibre equivalents for optimum heavy duty performance in the lightest product possible. They have engineered out the heavy steel load straps, head posts, shackle, fasteners and cleating accessories and replaced the traditional shackle and post head with an innovative Dyneema Link configuration that reflects the latest trends in development classes and grand prix ocean racing.

International 14 duo Lindsay Irwin and Michael Perry say their main and spinnaker system blocks are 35 per cent lighter than those of Ronstan?s nearest competitor and have the highest strength-to-weight ratio available.

Whisper Ultra 25/30 generator
The popular Whisper Ultra 25/30 generator now has a new feature, the Hydro Boost. When under sail, often little electric power is required, but even more hydraulic power than a 1500rpm or 1800rpm engine can deliver. The Hydro Boost offers extra hydraulic power up to 37kW by increasing the rotational speed of the engine up to 2200rpm.
The option works fully automatically. After pushing the button, the electric power is switched off, the internal alternator circuitry is isolated and the RPM increased, resulting in extra hydraulic power available. At the same time, electric power supply can be taken over by a Mastervolt DC to AC inverter that can supply up to 15kW AC from the batteries.
The Hydro Boost option is very attractive for high-profile sailing yachts when extended hydropower is required.
Launched only last year, the Whisper Ultra diesel generator produces 25kW premium power at 50Hz or 30kW at 60Hz. It is exceptionally quiet due to efficient soundproofing and relatively lightweight (580kg including sound shield).

For more information, contact Mastervolt Australia, email www.mastervolt.com.au, ph (07) 3283 7800.

RRP: $19,965 for the Whisper Ultra and pricing on the Hydro Boost was being finalised at the time of going to press.
