Loïc Escoffier (Lodigroup) who crossed the finish line second in the Multihull division has been declared winner of the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe after initial winner, Roland Jourdain was penalised.
Escoffier crossed the line at Pointe-à-Pitre line at 19:52:23hrs UTC, some 43 mins 23 seconds after his nearest adversary, Roland Jourdain (We Explore). However, Jourdain has been given a statutory time penalty of 90 minutes for breaking a lead seal on his boat, which drops him to second place.
