Free webinar : Expert weather preview – Prada Cup and America’s Cup 2021

Marine Weather University was launched just six months ago when veteran sailing meteorologist, Chris Bedford and two-times America's Cup winning navigator Peter Isler teamed up to provide the best marine weather education on the planet. Today MWU’s university-level curriculum features over 20 individual classes – all online.

To celebrate the start of the America’s Cup season with the first round of the Prada Cup, MWU is presenting this free webinar which premieres 9PM, Wednesday, January 13 (New York)/3pm Thursday, January 14 (Auckland).

Chris and Peter are huge fans of the America's Cup. They were rookies together in their first Cup in Perth, Australia – winning it with Dennis Conner’s Stars & Stripes team. Chris is currently working in his 10th Cup as American Magic's meteorologist. In this MWU free class Chris will provide insight into the weather-related challenges facing the crews racing 75ft foiling monohulls in Auckland's inner waters during the summer months.

This free class is designed to be a resource for Cup fans throughout the 2021 America’s Cup season (Jan – Mar). Chris will start with the big picture of Auckland’s summer weather and then drill down to the micro scale and the racing area. Viewers will gain an understanding of the weather dynamics in the confines of Auckland's outer harbour and get some tips on how to get good weather information on race day.  Peter will serve as master of ceremonies.

Registration is required to take this free course which premieres and will remain available at Marine Weather University for 24/7 access.
