Sail Expo 2026 will bring together an expanded showcase of yachts, marine brands, equipment and services when it returns to the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC), Newport, on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October.
With cruising and performance yachts, the latest generation of multihulls and an expanded shore-based exhibitor precinct, Sail Expo will offer visitors plenty to see both on and off the water. Sailing clothing, electronics, deck hardware, inflatable tenders and other marine products will sit alongside the boats, while food, entertainment and a relaxed waterfront atmosphere make it an event for sailors, families and anyone interested in life on the water.
One of the new-boat highlights will be the Sydney Premiere of the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 455, with Performance Boating Sales also displaying the new Sun Odyssey 415 and Sun Odyssey 380. The 455 combines a high-performance hull with twin helms, walkaround side decks and a spacious cockpit, while its interior features increased natural light, improved ventilation and a range of layout options.
Lee Condell from Performance Boating Sales said: “The 455 brings together performance, easy handling and a really impressive amount of space and light. We’re looking forward to giving Sydney sailors their first opportunity to step aboard, alongside the new 415 and 380.”
Multihull Central will also bring the Seawind 1160 XL, the latest development of Seawind’s popular 1160 platform, with more space and volume throughout. The new design delivers more headroom and usable living space, greater clearance above the water and a lighter, more efficient hull.
Brent Vaughan from Multihull Central said: “The 1160 XL takes a proven Seawind concept and moves it forward with more space and a fresh approach to the design. It will be great to have people step aboard at Sail Expo.”
Visitors will also be able to compare a wide range of boats from leading international brands, with Lagoon Catamarans, Beneteau, Bavaria and Hanse among the on-water exhibitors. With different sizes, layouts and styles of yacht on display, sailors can step aboard, compare the options and get a better feel for what type of boat might best suit their sailing plans, whether that means weekend cruising, coastal adventures or longer passages.
Shared boating will also feature at Sail Expo, with companies offering alternatives to traditional boat ownership for people who want to spend more time on the water without taking on the full commitment of owning a yacht. Visitors can explore different shared ownership and boating options and find out how they can provide access to a boat for weekends, holidays and regular sailing.
The expanded shore-based precinct will bring together businesses catering to sailors and boat owners, including Henri Lloyd, Lejen Marine, North Sails and Yachting Holidays. Marine electronics, deck fittings, inflatable tenders, sailing clothing and other equipment will all feature, giving visitors plenty of reasons to explore the shore exhibits between yacht visits.
Sail Expo will also put a spotlight on the future of the sport, with small boat classes including Optimists on display. The junior boats provide a glimpse into the pathways available to young sailors, from taking their first steps on the water through to developing the skills and experience that can lead into competitive and cruising sailing.
With yachts to explore, new products to discover and the opportunity to meet people from across the sailing industry, visitors can spend the day moving between the boats and shore exhibits, while enjoying food, entertainment and the waterfront setting at the RPAYC.
