World Sailing is inviting Member National Authorities (MNAs), yacht clubs, manufacturers, and regions and cities to bid to host the 2027-2029 Offshore Double Handed World Championships.
With the 2026 Offshore Double Handed World Championship scheduled in Marseille, France in September 2026, World Sailing is looking for bids to build upon its previous successes.
This event forms an integral part of Navigating Offshore, an initiative by World Sailing aimed at bolstering support for offshore sailing. The Offshore Double Handed World Championship, which utilises supplied equipment, enhances the promotion of accessibility, gender equity, and sustainability within the sport.
Matt Allen, Oceanic and Offshore Chair, expressed, “The event provides a unique opportunity to showcase the growing international appeal of double-handed racing and promote the host venue or city around the world.”
World Sailing acknowledges varying venue needs and facilities, as well as the complexities involved with the requirement of supplied equipment. Interested parties are encouraged to contact World Sailing for clarity on the event’s requirements. World Sailing is open to bids for multiple consecutive years.
Full details about the bidding process and guidelines are available by contacting bid@sailing.org.
