2025 Tornado World Champions Declared

The 2025 Tornado World Championship has come to an exciting conclusion after ten thrilling races, all successfully completed despite the continuously tricky wind conditions that tested sailors’ strategy, stamina, and skill across the fleet.

In the Open Category, GRE 86 – Nikolaos Mavros and Polydoros Parianos wrapped up the World Championship title dominantly. With most of the finishes in the top 3, they secured gold with a total of 25 points, showcasing exceptional consistency and composure under pressure.

The Mixed Category saw a battle between two Czech mixed teams. Rising stars CZE 72 – Michaela Pavlisova and Marek Pavlis stood out strong and steady throughout the week. Despite picking up a UFD, they held on for 2nd overall and 1st in the Mixed/Youth division, with 37 points.

Following closely behind were GRE 111 – Estela Jentsch Steimer and Avraam Koen Levi, another youth mixed team that sailed. Their strong finish, including a race win in Race 10, earned them 3rd overall and 2nd in the Mixed/Youth category, on 44 points.

GRE 111 – Estela Jentsch Steimer / Avraam Koen Levi – 44 pts

CZE 62 – Zdenek Pavlis / Klara Pavlisova – 45 pts

Top 3 – Youth Category

(Teams with both sailors less than 26 years of age)

CZE 72 – Michaela Pavlisova / Marek Pavlis – 37 pts

GRE 111 – Estela Jentsch Steimer / Avraam Koen Levi – 44 pts

GRE 1 – Maria Vogiatzopoulou / Stefanos Pappas – 67 pts

Honorable mentions go to GRE 11 – Konstantinos Trigonis and Konstantinos Kazantzis, who showed flashes of brilliance but were hampered by penalties.
