Maritime Safety Queensland has released updates to its Beacon to Beacon Guides for Pumicestone Passage and the Brisbane and Bremer Rivers.
There have been significant changes to channels and banks in the northern part of the Passage and Caloundra Bar. So, to keep boaties in safer waters in this area, a new page showing the track between navigation aids has been added to the Guide based on aerial imagery taken in 2018.
In addition, a new Brisbane City Council Public Recreation Hub on the Brisbane River at Dutton Park is due for completion over the coming months. The Beacon to Beacon Guide for Brisbane River and Bremer River has therefore been re-issued, with a special inset enlargement to highlight safe navigation under the bridge and when using or passing the Hub.
Beacon to Beacon Guides are now geo-referenced PDFs (distances and positions available in a PDF reader) and the Guides are available for free download on the MSQ website.
