“Racing in J/80s is new for us, so there’s been a steep learning curve. Being able to train right in the city, on a harbour course similar to Stockholm, has been incredibly valuable,” he remarked. The new platform, ViewRegatta, aims to bridge the gap between the fast-paced action on the water and the spectators on shore. Developed by a team that includes competitive sailor Martin Alsén, this innovative system will utilise smartphones on each boat to provide real-time data, enhancing viewer engagement.
Key features include real-time tactical analysis driven by AI, predictive commentary explaining tactical decisions, and accessible visualisations allowing fans to follow the race closely from their devices. This technological leap aims to make the complexities of team racing more understandable and engaging.
