World Match Racing Tour finals set for historic double-header at Amaala Yacht Club

The World Match Racing Tour and Women’s World Match Racing Tour Finals will take place at AMAALA Yacht Club in Saudi Arabia this November, marking a significant milestone for the events. The finals will be held back-to-back for the first time, with both offering a prize purse of $200,000, including the largest prize ever for an all-female sailing event.

Located on the northeastern Red Sea coast, AMAALA Yacht Club aims to become a premier destination for international sailing, with pristine waters and reliable trade winds suitable for competitive racing. This initiative forms part of a broader goal to enhance local participation in sailing and establish the Red Sea as a hub for yachting.

The Women’s World Match Racing Tour Final is scheduled from November 2nd to 7th, followed by the World Match Racing Tour Final from November 9th to 14th. Winners will be crowned 2026 Match Racing World Champions by World Sailing.

James Pleasance, Executive Director of the World Match Racing Tour, expressed pride in the equal prize money across both tours, highlighting the significance of this year for the event. Adrian Peet, General Manager of AMAALA Yacht Club, echoed excitement about hosting the finals and its importance for promoting sailing in the region.
