Still time to enter Melbourne Trailable Yacht Club Four Points Race

It’s not too late to enter the annual Melbourne Trailable Yacht Club Four Points Race on Port Phillip, this Saturday 02 May.  This race is also the final heat of this season’s Victorian Trailable Yacht Travellers’ Series.

Commodore Dean Hansen said last night “The weather outlook for this Saturday is looking great for another exciting passage race around the top of Port Phillip and there are some great prizes on offer thanks to the tremendous support of our generous sponsors.”

Starting off St Kilda, the event is open to all trailable yachts, trailable multi-hulls and sports boats with a Yachting Australia Class Based Handicap.

“The attraction of this event is the long legs of the trapezoidal course whilst enjoying racing in a good sized, all trailable fleet.  It’s a race format that’s very different to the pressures of short course racing and has been well supported in recent years” said Commodore Dean Hansen

Overnight berthing after the race at Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron’s (RMYS) marina in St Kilda is being offered and participants are invited to head to the RMYS for post-race presentations and a post race dinner in St Kilda.

MTYC and RMYS are co-hosting the 2016 Victorian Trailable Championships and the high quality berthing now available at RMYS makes this a really attractive venue to hold events, particularly for the trailable sailors and their families coming from county Victoria.

For further details about the event, including a list of entrants to date and details about overnight berthing at RMYS marina , refer to the MYC website www.mtyc.yachting.org.au
