On December 10, 2025, SailGP concluded its fifth season, showcasing remarkable audience growth and commercial success. This year, the global racing championship solidified its status among the fastest-growing sports worldwide, increasing its dedicated broadcast audience to nearly 215 million, with an average of 18 million viewers per event.
The 2025 season featured 12 Grand Prix events across four new venues: Portsmouth (UK), Sassnitz (Germany), Geneva (Switzerland), and Auckland (New Zealand), making it SailGP’s largest fleet with 12 teams. This included the Red Bull Italy and Mubadala Brazil teams, marking Brazil’s debut and introducing SailGP’s first female driver, Martine Grael.
In-person attendance soared, with over 112,000 ticketed spectators, helping generate a cumulative economic impact of over US $230 million. The event also offered a unique hospitality experience, the Adrenaline Lounge, and achieved an average net promoter score (NPS) of +58, with standout scores in Auckland (+80) and Sassnitz (+72).
SailGP’s broadcast outreach achieved significant milestones, including a record 3.469 million viewers for the U.S. broadcast of the Race to Abu Dhabi, surpassing historic sailing viewership records. Digital engagement surged with over 1.65 billion views across its social media platforms, and SailGP’s YouTube channel surpassed 1 million subscribers.
The league also saw new commercial partnerships, including Rolex as the title partner, and expanded global presence with multi-season agreements with companies like KPMG, Emirates, and DP World. Innovative technologies like titanium T-Foils contributed to new performance standards with several teams exceeding the 100 km/h speed barrier.
SailGP remains committed to sustainability, ensuring all events are powered entirely by clean energy. The programme SailGP Inspire engaged over 10,500 young people in 2025, contributing positively to the community. Looking ahead, SailGP is set to commence its 2026 season with the inaugural Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix on January 17-18, featuring 13 nations, including new entry Artemis Racing from Sweden.
