Price and Dargaville remain on top at Youth Match Racing Worlds in New Caledonia

The wind eased ; sailors began to feel at home ; the leaders – Caledonian and Australian – confirmed their positions.

The French – led by the Caledonian Cyril Fortin – confirmed yesterday’s good results. They won their first nine matches of the Round Robin . A great performance for the locals who started as outsiders (Globally ranked 152nd by World Sailing).

Australians, CYCA members, who finished second in the 1st Round Robin, also enjoyed a very nice day. Mid afternoon, in the second Robin, Harry Price – the Australian skipper-  defeated  the Caledonian crew.

So, by the end of the day, both crews totalled 11 victories over 12 matches.

Jon Napier, the  International Sailing Federation (World Sailing ) technical delegate welcomed the good weather conditions, the quality of the sailing area, and local and international umpires .

The second Round Robin should be finished tomorrow. Then we will know which eight will be qualified for the quarter finals.
