Penultimate day delivers another test at ILCA 6 Masters Worlds

Great to see our sailors still going strong in Greece, and also a great to see this video from Day 3.

The penultimate day of the 2026 ILCA 6 Masters World Championship saw competitors complete two more races in Athens, bringing the series total to ten races and setting up an exciting final day across all age categories.

A delayed start of 90 minutes was required before the first race could get underway in a light sea breeze of 5–10 knots from 160–180 degrees. Choppy seas provided an additional challenge for the fleet throughout the day. The breeze remained in the same range and direction for the second race, allowing the championship to stay on schedule heading into the final day of competition.

Super Legends leader Kerry Waraker AUS highlighted the significance of the newest age category at the championship: “It’s the first time the ILCAs have had a category for the sailors aged over 85 and it will encourage older people to keep sailing the ILCAs. I am fortunate that I am still able to do it. This regatta has been very well managed both on shore and on the water and a big thank you to all the people involved.”
