New sailing regatta for the Gulf of St Vincent in South Australia

A new sailing regatta called the APC “King of the Gulf” will be held on the flat racing waters off Port Vincent in the Gulf of St Vincent in South Australia. This new regatta for both monohulls and multihulls involves racing and cruising with the racing monohulls and multihulls having an optional passage race from Outer Harbour to Glenelg then across the gulf to Port Vincent and then a race back to Outer Harbour after the “King of the Gulf” regatta on the Tuesday.

The “King of the Gulf” dates are from the 20th to 24th February.

We are very excited to have some of the fastest boats in Australia competing with both the winners of Division 1 (Mad Max) and Division 2 (Goldfinger) at the recent multihull nationals in Geelong entered. We are sure to witness some very exciting racing indeed with  very high end top speeds possible with the flat waters off the marina.

Nomination fees are very inexpensive being $25 for the passage races and $75 for the 5 race series. A free welcome dinner for all the sailors will be provided by one of our sponsors Metro Property group on the Friday night. This event will be held in a large marquee on the lawn of the Port Vincent marina.

The marquee will be set up during the regatta, making it possible for all sailors and their supporters to meet after every race.

MYASA is supplying a gold coin breakfast for all competitors each day in the marquee.

It was the exceptional hospitality provided to our members in Hamilton Island race week that has encouraged us to provide a similar service for our regatta.
