Australia urged to sign up for Bart’s Bash 2015 at the inaugural Sydney Sailboat Expo

Australian Olympic and America’s Cup sailor Anthony ‘Nocka’ Nossiter will be visiting the first ever Sydney Sailboat Expo to urge Australian sailors to take part in Bart’s Bash 2015, the world’s largest sailing race held in memory of Olympic sailor Andrew ‘Bart’ Simpson and in aid of the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation.

Nocka, who is an Ambassador for the Foundation, will be on hand with information on the Foundation’s work as well an all-important checklist for those wanting to sign up to take part in this year’s Bart’s Bash, taking place on and around 20 September 2015.

This is the second time the unique sailing event has taken place. Over 20 clubs in Australia took part in the 2014 event and this year the Foundation hopes even more will get on board. Any sailing clubs, community sailing programmes, sail training centres, yacht clubs and even groups of sailors can hold a Bart’s Bash race.

This year the aim of the 2015 campaign is to increase participation even further with the ultimate goal of becoming the world’s biggest sporting event.

All Bart’s Bash participants are encouraged to raise valuable funds for the Foundation which is already undertaking a range of sustainable projects, using sailing to transform the lives of children and young people globally.
