Sail Expo 2026 celebrates a standout weekend in Sydney

Beautiful weather, more than 25 new yachts, and strong support from sailors and the marine industry made for a celebratory atmosphere at Sail Expo 2026. The event concluded successfully on 18 October at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) in Sydney, drawing sailors, boat owners, prospective buyers, marine businesses, and families eager to embrace the sailing lifestyle.

Pittwater provided a stunning backdrop as the expo showcased a variety of new yachts alongside an onshore exhibitor precinct offering excellent food, entertainment, and opportunities to explore products and services for life on the water.

Commodore Julia Hornsby remarked on the event’s success, noting it was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the club and the diverse sailing experiences available for all ages and skill levels. The turnout from the sailing community was impressive, emphasising the importance of such gatherings to promote sailing.

The on-water display featured a mix of cruising and performance yachts, highlighting international brands like Jeanneau, Excess, Fountaine Pajot, Dufour, and more. Visitors were encouraged to step aboard and compare designs, assisting them in making informed decisions about their next vessel.

Feedback from exhibitors like Micah Lane from Sundance Marine indicated valuable conversations taking place, providing insights into different yacht models and features essential for potential buyers.

Another highlight of the expo was the onshore exhibitor precinct, where visitors could explore various sailing-related products, including clothing, sails, and marine hardware. My Yacht showcased specialist sailing equipment and engaged with attendees to discuss tailored solutions for cruising and racing needs.

The event also introduced boat sharing as an alternative to traditional ownership, with companies like SailTime, Smart Boating, and AllSail presenting options for those wishing to enjoy sailing without the full responsibilities of ownership.

Food, beverages, and live entertainment added to the family-friendly atmosphere, making Sail Expo a comprehensive outing for all involved, while reinforcing its value as a vital connection point for the marine industry.

Sail Expo 2026, proudly supported by Pantaenius Yacht Insurance, demonstrated the enthusiasm of the sailing community and highlighted the depth of expertise present in Australia’s sailing industry. Organisers look forward to building on this year’s success at Sail Expo 2027.
