Andrew Simpson Foundation establishes Australian committee

The Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation has established a committee and a team of ambassadors in Australia consisting of marine industry experts, sailing enthusiasts and Olympians to help develop fund raising opportunities, and identify worthy charities that may benefit from practical or financial assistance.

Mel Yeomans will chair the committee alongside Anthony Nossiter, Marita Wilmot, Beau Outteridge and Freddy Blencke. Ambassadors include Olympic Gold Medallists, Nathan Outteridge, Iain Jensen and Nathan Wilmot.

Mel commented on the opportunity, “It has been an exciting time putting together the committee and Ambassadors for the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation in Australia. The response from all those involved has been overwhelming. As we look forward there are so many opportunities both here in Australia and internationally. After all it is the international friendships through sailing that has brought such a strong group of sailors together who believe in our sport and the values the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation hold.”

ASSF CEO, Richard Percy said “It is great to have a group of passionate sailors who all knew and loved Bart on the committee and representing the Foundation in Australia. We are looking forward to supporting further Australian charities whose objectives are to use sailing to transform the lives of young people.”
