America’s Cup unveil dramatic vision for Naples 2027

During the 65th International Boat Show in Genoa, Grant Dalton, CEO of Emirates Team New Zealand, alongside representatives from Sport e Salute, presented the ambitious plans for the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup set to take place in Naples in 2027. The presentation highlighted a transformative vision for the Bagnoli waterfront, which will serve as the hub for all America’s Cup teams.

The redevelopment will convert this former industrial area into a vibrant epicentre for the event, featuring a world-class technical facility for AC75 yachts, a dedicated base for AC40 yachts, and a new superyacht marina. Public viewing areas, state-of-the-art media and broadcast centres, and the headquarters for America’s Cup Event organisers will also be established.

Furthermore, the Bagnoli area will include an AC Tech Fan Village, equipped with interactive spaces, large jumbotron screens for race viewing, and numerous gastronomy and retail options. The marina will be safeguarded by an extended stone breakwater, ensuring proximity to the racing course set against the scenic Bay of Naples.

Additionally, plans for the America’s Cup Race Village along the seafront of downtown Naples were unveiled, promising an unprecedented level of fan engagement, with grandstand viewing opportunities and an official main stage for sailor and trophy presentations along the Viale Francesco Caracciolo.

With expectations of exceeding the estimated one million spectators who attended previous pre-regattas held in 2012 and 2013, the upcoming Cup is poised to be a monumental event in the history of the America’s Cup.

Naples is preparing to welcome the world in 2027, aiming to deliver an unforgettable experience for fans and competing teams alike, including the Women’s & Youth America’s Cup regattas. The racecourse in the Bay of Naples has been described as “perfection” by Grant Dalton, indicating that summer 2027 will be a pinnacle event on the global sailing calendar.
