Ibiza JoySail will return for its seventh edition from 23–26 September 2027, following another successful running of the Mediterranean superyacht regatta.
The sixth edition brought together 19 sailing superyachts at Marina Ibiza, with the fleet racing a series of coastal courses around Ibiza and Formentera.
The event once again attracted a mix of returning yachts and newcomers, with racing divided across several classes and an emphasis on combining competitive sailing with the social side of the regatta.
“The sixth edition of the Ibiza JoySail has come and gone, and we are still amazed by the spectacular yachts that grace us with their presence,” Race Director Nacho Postigo said.
“From the organising committee, our most sincere thanks go to the owners of these fantastic yachts, and our hope that they will continue to share the end of summer with us in Ibiza for many years to come.”
Postigo also thanked the crews and organising team behind the event, describing the sixth edition as another successful regatta both on and off the water.
Ibiza provides plenty of racing options
One of Ibiza JoySail’s attractions is the range of coastal courses available around Ibiza and neighbouring Formentera, allowing race organisers to select courses that make the most of the prevailing conditions.
For Swan 115 MOAT, which has competed in every edition of Ibiza JoySail, the location remains a major part of the regatta’s appeal.
“The great thing about Ibiza is the wide variety of courses, which makes for a very enjoyable regatta; plus, we’ve had excellent sailing conditions with steady, beautiful winds,” MOAT tactician Cole Parada said.
The regatta is supported by a number of marine industry partners, including North Sails for sail repairs, Yacht Moving for logistics, Varadero Ibiza and provisioning company Super Oh.
Prizes were awarded to the class winners, along with additional trophies for yachts helmed by their owners.
Perpetual Trophy returns in 2027
The Ibiza JoySail Perpetual Trophy will also return ahead of the 2027 regatta.
The trophy provides a 30-day window before the start of Ibiza JoySail in which participating yachts can attempt a 48-nautical-mile passage from Punta Cala Figuera in Mallorca to the island of Tagomago off Ibiza.
The fastest yacht to complete the passage claims the Perpetual Trophy.
Away from the racing, the event continues to place a strong emphasis on bringing owners and crews together ashore.
A fleet of chase boats provided by Boating Ibiza gives media and guests the opportunity to follow the racing on the water, while a program of evening functions allows teams to come together after each day’s racing.
With the seventh edition now confirmed for 23–26 September 2027, Ibiza JoySail will once again bring the superyacht fleet to the Balearic Islands for four days of racing and shoreside activities.
