Why JPK Yachts make Major 2025 Podiums

The next generation of yachting is set to grow, driven by affordable, easy-to-sail yachts that make the sport more accessible.

For those considering their sailing future and looking to be competitive, recent results make the research straightforward. The 2025 regatta season has highlighted JPK yachts as standout performers.

Podium finishes across major events have showcased the success of the JPK 11.80, 10.80 and 10.30 models.

The JPK 11.80 Bacchanal was declared winner of the prestigious CYCA 2025 Blue Water Championship. So impressed was the US owner that Bacchanal has since been shipped to the United States to compete in major regattas.

Equally impressive, the Overall Handicap winner and runner-up in the 2025 Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race both came from the double-handed category, with the JPK 10.30 Min River taking the win and the JPK 10.80 BNC finishing second.

With the East Coast hosting many of Australia’s major regattas—and bringing with it highly variable conditions—the European-designed, Australian-built JPK yachts have proven their ability to perform across a wide range of conditions. Their capacity to carry large spinnakers is a key competitive advantage.

For sailors seeking a cruiser-racer that rewards their investment, the JPK range continues to tick all the boxes.

JPK yachts offer a range of features:

  • Competitive both inshore and offshore
  • Versatile as a family cruiser-racer
  • Limited production, helping to maintain resale value

Paul Glynn of JPK Pacific said, “Our ‘Made in Australia’ cruiser-racers are highly competitive under IRC, as evidenced by the 2025 Hobart results.”

The JPK range features powerful sloop designs built using composite production methods, reducing weight without compromising cruising comfort.

The JPK 11.80, 10.80 and 10.30 are typically tiller-steered, with wheel steering available as an option.

Shane Guanaria, Principal of Doyle Sails Sydney, who sailed on the JPK 11.80 in major regattas including the 2025 Hobart, said, “The JPK is a very competitive yacht without compromising too many comforts, such as an oven, stove and proper toilet.”

For those looking ahead, JPK Pacific has production slots available for the 2026–2027 racing season.
