The Classic Boat Series was won by local Royal Geelong Yacht Club’s Marie Louis III, owned by Scott Taylor.
Race 2 of the series started across two lines, taking the fleet towards Royal Geelong Yacht Club and their turning marks before heading downwind across the inner harbour. The competition witnessed intense battles at marks amongst the various divisions.
Race 3 took competitors to the outer harbour for a longer course, beginning near the south-eastern Stingaree Bay with a turning mark set off Limeburners Point.
The Australian Multihull Championships 2026, integrated into the Festival of Sails, is set for an exciting final day. In Division 1, Ian Holten’s Triballistic leads Dave Ruffin’s Kavala and Tim Pepperell’s Running Bare after seven races.
Division 2 showcases a close race with only two points separating Craig Humphries’ Ritalin in first place from Craig Unthank’s SKnot in second, alongside Gerald Valk’s Crosshair. With only four points separating the top four boats and a drop available, the final race promises to be highly competitive.
