The Boka Bay Coastal Race concluded The Ocean Race Europe with a stunning finish. Paul Meilhat’s team on Biotherm continued their dominant performance, claiming victory in the race. This win capped off an impressive summer for Biotherm, securing four wins in five legs and finishing the overall competition with 55 points.
Finishing second in the race, Paprec Arkéa effectively secured the second place overall with a total of 40 points while Holcim-PRB took third place, gaining 38.5 points after a challenging season.
The race, held under clear blue skies, was thrilling, with competitors battling for the top spots. Paprec Arkéa’s crew, led by Yoann Richomme, took an early lead, but Biotherm managed to overtake them during the second lap and maintained their lead to the end.
As the race progressed, the competition was fierce, with Holcim-PRB struggling after a difficult manoeuvre that caused them to lose ground. Despite this, they managed to secure a podium finish.
Team Malizia and Canada Ocean Racing – Be Water Positive also performed well, finishing fourth and fifth respectively, while Allagrande Mapei Racing completed the race in sixth place. Team Amaala finished in seventh.
This exciting conclusion showcased the skill and tenacity of all teams involved, and the event served as a reminder of the growing popularity and competitive spirit within The Ocean Race series.
