SailGP Managing Director Andrew Thompson said: “Bringing SailGP to Perth is a major milestone and the perfect way to launch the Rolex SailGP Championship’s 2026 Season. For the first time, we’re introducing SailGP’s ‘race-stadium’ grandstand viewing to Australian racing fans, providing a front-row seat to the world’s most exciting racing on water which has proved incredibly popular at events around the world and will be the best seats in the house. The new purpose-built, Waterfront Grandstand, alongside the Beach Club, marks a significant step in elevating the fan experience and expanding our presence in one of our most passionate markets, and I have no doubt our current and new fans will have a fantastic day out by the water.”

Acting WA Minister for Tourism, the Hon. Don Punch MLA said: “The Perth Sail Grand Prix promises to be a fantastic spectacle. Being able to watch 50-foot catamarans sail past at speeds of over 100km/h from a grandstand just metres from the action, a pumping beach club, or from the water itself is certainly not an opportunity to be missed. The WA Government is proud to have secured this event for Fremantle in a three-year deal, which will bring thousands of visitors to our state and generate millions of dollars in visitor spend, boosting our bars and restaurants, hotels, and local businesses. I encourage everyone to sign up for pre-sale tickets for what is sure to be the event of the summer.”

BONDS Flying Roos Grinder Kinley Fowler said: “There’s nothing like racing at home. Fremantle has some of the best sailing conditions in the world and getting the chance to race in front of family, friends and our local sailing community on Bathers Beach will be unforgettable. The energy here is unreal and fans are going to be blown away by how close the racing gets to the grandstand. We’ve always wanted to bring SailGP to the west coast and now we get to show the world what Perth’s coastline is made of.

BONDS Flying Roos Coach Ben Durham said: “It’s a huge moment for SailGP and for Perth. Fremantle is an iconic sailing venue and to see it on the global stage will be something special. It puts our local talent, grassroots community and Perth on the world map. I can’t wait to watch fans line the shore and young sailors soaking up the world-class action right here on home waters, it’s going to be epic.

The Oracle Perth Sail Grand Prix presented by KPMG will launch the 2026 Season of the Rolex SailGP Championship — a global calendar of high-speed, close-to-shore events in iconic locations where national teams compete on identical cutting-edge foiling catamarans. The inaugural Perth event marks an exciting milestone for Australian supporters, offering another chance to cheer on Tom Slingsby and the BONDS Flying Roos SailGP Team on home waters, as they take on international rivals on both the west and east coasts for the first time in 2026.
