A man has been rescued, and his yacht towed ashore off the New South Wales South Coast.
The 44-year-old called triple zero and activated a distress beacon, after the yacht's rudder broke on Monday morning.
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority said the beacon stopped transmitting a signal a short time later.
The Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter was tasked by Police to help search for the vessel off the coast between Sydney and Ulladulla.
Water Police later located the yacht before towing it back to Jervis Bay.
The man was unharmed.
