The Australian Hobie Class is super excited to announce the NSW Hobie Cat Association (NSWHCA) and Vincentia Sailing Club (VSC) are holding the very first State Championships for the good ol’ Hobie Wave.
Raced very competitively overseas, particularly in the USA, the Hobie Wave is also one of the most well known resort and learn-to-sail boats around the world.
Having utilised the Hobie Waves heavily at the VSC (one of the the most successful catamaran clubs in Australia) in the ‘Wave Challenge’, the idea to create a high level event for the class will open up opportunities for young, old and novice sailors alike; putting the ‘rockstars’ on the sidelines.

The NSWHCA and VSC are looking at sponsorship for the event. Sponsors will be able to purchase a brand new Hobie Wave mainsail, with their logo printed on it. The sponsors logo will also be applied to the hulls of each boat, along with the week-to-week mainsails utilised at the VSC.
