The Ocean Fifty class and all its skippers have requested to advance their start to the race initially scheduled for Sunday, October 26th. They cited the expected weather conditions overnight from Sunday to Monday, which could be damaging for their unique 15-meter multihulls.
In response, race management has set a new start time for Saturday, October 25th, at 4:30 p.m. local time. To ensure safety, appropriate resources will be allocated. The course for the Ocean Fifty has also been modified so that they can arrive in Fort-de-France as planned.
The competitors will sail down to the Canary Islands, leaving the entire archipelago to starboard, then proceed to Cape Verde, which will also be passed on the right. A waypoint will be established that corresponds to a planned course duration of approximately twelve days.
The start times for the other three classes will remain unchanged and will be broadcast live between 1:30 p.m. and 3:23 p.m. local time in France.

About TRANSAT CAFÉ L’OR Le Havre Normandie
The TRANSAT CAFÉ L’OR Le Havre Normandie is the longest and most demanding of the transatlantic races. Every two years, the skippers set off in pairs from the port of Le Havre to coffee-growing countries. The adventure was born in 1993, from a partnership between the city of Le Havre and the JDE Peet’s group, owner of the L’ORbrand. Through committed choices in all aspects of the race (sporting, partnership, operational, communication), the TRANSAT CAFÉ L’OR association wishes to be a key player in the transformation of ocean racing for greater accessibility, sustainability, and popularity. By exploring the imaginaries of ocean racing, it wishes to show a way towards a more sustainable and inclusive world, while continuing to transmit dreams and a taste for daring.
