SP20 – A new look for the boat

On June 9 & 10, we opened our doors to unveil our world record boat, and we were not expecting so many people! Whether with our partners, our families or our fans, we loved presenting our challenge to you and enjoyed every moment of the weekend. Seeing so many of you involved in our world record quest really touched us, so thank you all for your support in this incredible adventure. We are proud to have you on board!

Surprise: a new look for the boat

We have been saving a little surprise for the event: the boat has a new design! In a carbon cockpit, the heat can become suffocating very quickly. Covering the hulls with light colors helps keep the heat down, both for our pilots and our onboard systems.

Here is the boat in its final outfit for the first sailings. We just love it, and you ?

How to simply change the color of a boat?

First, we had to create the new design. We called the talented Jean-Baptiste Epron, who suggested this elegant black and white design that keeps the spirit of the boat.
Once this design was approved, it was time to wrap the hulls: we entrusted this meticulous task to the specialist of Manta Design, who spent a few days in our workshop applying huge strips of stickers to our hulls and cutting them to the right shape.

Next steps

After two years of construction, the launch has never been so close!

The team is working hard on the boat’s finishing touches to guarantee its launch this summer. The countdown is on, so stay tuned for our next newsletters…
