Sail Expo 2026 brings together the best of sailing

Australia’s largest Sail Expo is just days away and will bring together an impressive range of yachts, equipment and services at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club, Newport, on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October.

Free to attend, with free parking and complimentary tender services from nearby Pittwater wharves, Sail Expo 2026 will offer something for sailors, boat owners, families and anyone who enjoys life on the water and is keen to discover sailing. Visitors can explore cruising and racing yachts, dinghies, catamarans and monohulls across a range of sizes, styles and leading international brands, while enjoying food, beverages and live entertainment throughout the weekend.

The on-water display will include well-known yacht brands such as Dufour, Bavaria, Beneteau, Hanse, Lagoon, Jeanneau and Seawind, with yachts ranging from compact cruising boats through to larger yachts designed for extended time on the water. Visitors can step aboard, compare layouts and features, and get a feel for the type of yacht that best suits their sailing plans.

Sydney Marine Brokerage will have four yachts on display, including three Bavaria models, the Bavaria C38, C46 and C57, along with the Grand Soleil 40.

Andrew Withers from Sydney Marine Brokerage said the display would give visitors the opportunity to compare a range of yachts in one location.

“Having four boats at Sail Expo gives people the chance to spend some proper time aboard and understand how different each model feels,” Andrew said.

“Whether someone is looking for comfortable family cruising, longer-range sailing or something with a stronger performance focus, there’s a lot to explore across these two brands.”

The Yacht Sales Co. will also be represented at Sail Expo, with NSW area manager Rafael Da Costa looking forward to showcasing two of the company’s yachts at the event.

“Sail Expo is a great opportunity to put these two very different yachts in front of Australian sailors. We’re looking forward to bringing the Dufour 48, and the Fountaine Pajot 44 catamaran and being part of the weekend.”

The yachts will be complemented by an expanded shore-based exhibitor precinct, with businesses showcasing everything from sailing equipment and hardware to clothing and sails.

Yachting holiday options and sailmakers will be among the exhibitors, while visitors can also explore a range of tenders, lifestyle wear and marine equipment, giving sailors the opportunity to see products and services that can make time on the water easier and more enjoyable.

DeckHardware will also be exhibiting at Sail Expo as it celebrates 20 years of family ownership. The company has grown over two decades to become a supplier of marine hardware and equipment across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, while continuing its long-standing relationships with brands including LIROS Ropes, Blue Performance, Man Ship Marine and Forespar Marine.

“We’re proud to have been part of the Australian marine industry for 20 years and to still represent the brands we started with,” said Melissa Yeomans. “Sail Expo is a great opportunity to connect with sailors and showcase some of the products and brands we work with.”

Alongside the boats and marine businesses, Sail Expo will showcase shared boating options, providing an alternative for people who want regular access to a yacht without traditional full ownership.

The event will also highlight pathways into sailing for younger sailors, with Optimists and other small boat classes on display, giving families an opportunity to see how young sailors can get started and progress in the sport.

With yachts to explore, marine businesses to meet and new products to discover, Sail Expo offers visitors the chance to experience a broad cross-section of the sailing and boating world in one place.
