Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron invites entries for Women’s Coaching Regatta

The Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron (RSYS) is gearing up for its much-anticipated ‘Ladies of the Sea’ (LOTS) Coaching Regatta, scheduled for the October long weekend, from 5-7 October 2025. This annual event, set against the stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbour, is designed to empower and develop female sailors, featuring renowned yachtswomen including Bridget Cangham, Vanessa Dudley, Lindy Hardcastle, Nickie Jones, and Kathy Veel as coaches.

The regatta promises a combination of on-water and on-shore activities, fostering a friendly and supportive environment. Each morning begins with focused coaching sessions covering essential skills such as starting, racing, and teamwork. Afternoons will see participants applying what they’ve learned in a series of short windward/leeward races, with coaches rotating among boats to provide individualized support.

Open to all-female crews and mixed teams with a female helm, the event welcomes entries from keelboats and one-design fleets, including Elliott 7, J/70, and Yngling classes, both spinnaker and non-spinnaker.

Since its inception in 2019, the LOTS Coaching Regatta has grown significantly, with last year’s edition attracting over 100 participants from 29 clubs across Australia. This year, the RSYS looks forward to building on that success.
