Route du Rhum: ARSEP capsized – skipper safe

Ocean Fifty Class leader, ARSEP has capsized in rough weather between Portugal and the Azores, her solo skipper, Frenchman, Thibaut Vauchel-Camus is not injured and is sheltering in the central hull of his trimaran.

Vauchel-Camus, 43, who had taken the lead in the standings at 2000hrs last night, had just passed through the second cold front since the start of the race and was sailing again towards the south-west on starboard tack when Solidaires En Peloton – ARSEP capsized.

Also….Two Class 40s, Boulangère Bio and Crosscall, have dismasted this evening
