PRESS RELEASE: 19th August 2025
The Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) has announced the dates for the much-anticipated 2027 Admiral’s Cup, following the successful revival of the event after over two decades. Set to take place from 15th to 30th July 2027, the competition aims to attract the world’s elite offshore racing teams to compete for one of sailing’s most prestigious trophies.
The 2027 edition will build on the excitement generated by the 2025 event, which marked a new chapter in the Admiral’s Cup’s storied history. The 2025 competition saw an impressive turnout of fifteen two-boat teams from across four continents, showcasing exceptional talent and fierce national pride.
Race Director Steve Cole expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming event, stating, “The response from sailors, teams, and supporters was extraordinary. The passion, skill, and camaraderie on display proved that the Admiral’s Cup remains the ultimate test of team racing in offshore sailing. In 2027, we intend to raise the bar even higher.” The event will kick off with measurement and inspection on Thursday 15th July, leading up to the start of the Rolex Fastnet Race on Saturday 24th July.
Pierre Casiraghi, Vice President and skipper of the victorious Yacht Club de Monaco team in 2025, praised the competition, saying, “The Admiral’s Cup is an extraordinary event, brilliantly organised and fiercely competitive. I’m so proud to have been part of it.” The Admiral’s Cup, established in 1957, is revered as the unofficial world championship of offshore racing, combining inshore and offshore races, including the famed Rolex Fastnet Race.
Further details regarding the 2027 edition, including entry criteria and the complete race schedule, will be confirmed by the RORC in the coming months. With teams from Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Oceania expressing interest, the anticipation for the next Admiral’s Cup is already building.
